Joy Classic Beauty was born from a simple idea: every client deserves to feel like they mattered, whether they walked in without an appointment or booked weeks in advance.
Twelve years ago, Joy Bonah set out to build more than just a hair salon. She wanted to build a business that reflected the same care, precision, and pride that she believed African hair braiding deserved. She had seen where the experience so often fell short of the craft, long waits with no warning, inconsistent quality between visits, and no real recognition for the clients who kept coming back.
She started Joy Classic Beauty to change that. What began as one chair and a clear standard for the work has grown, over five years, into a full team of braiders and a client base that returns again and again, some driving in from out of state just for a seat in her chair.
Today, Joy Classic Beauty carries that same original standard forward, expert craftsmanship, real hospitality, and respect for every client's time, built into a membership system designed so no one has to choose between walking in and being taken care of.
